Studying a language not offered at D?

I'm pretty focused on Dartmouth now in my college planning, considering Dartmouth ED really seriously.

But as I went through dartmouth.edu, I realized that Dartmouth, unlike many of my other top schools, does not offer Hindi. I know that Dartmouth really prides itself on a strong language program, and I was really intent on learning Hindi (a primary dialect of most of India).

I know from a Yale info session that Yale's language department can usually arrange for you to get credit for learning a language they don't offer, usually via Yale's own arrangements for you with an outside teacher or something. Does Dartmouth offer such opportunities for you to take a language that isn't offered?

My own searches came out in vain; I'm hoping actual Dartmouth alumni/students/parents would have a better idea.

Thank you.

You may want to contact the AMES program at Dartmouth directly. It looks like a “Hindi as a Cultural Construct” class is offered at Dartmouth.
Remember that study abroad programs are an alternate way to explore this topic.

I saw that Hindi as a Cultural Construct class, but I honestly thought it was more of like, a ‘history of Hindi’ type course rather than an actual Hindi language class. I never thought about directly contacting Dartmouth though.

Any other opinions?

I wonder if the Rassias Center might have some ideas: [Rassias Language Immersion Programs at Dartmouth](<a href=“This page has moved”>Rassias Language Immersion Programs at Dartmouth)
