Studying Abroad as an Engineer?

is it an option to study abroad in the engineering program?

There are tons of study abroad options open to those in the college of engineering.

If you use the link below, you can search for study abroad programs that are approved by the college of engineering. You can also further narrow it down by location, duration, languages, program types, and starting months.

Is there anybody out there who’s a current Purdue engineering student, who could comment on this? I’m wondering if students actually end up studying abroad during the school year. At most engineering schools it’s possible to do, but it’s easier to actually accomplish at some schools than at others. At many engineering schools, you’re “allowed” to study abroad, but it’s hard to do it and still graduate in four years. (Unless, of course, you do your study abroad during the summer.)

Many of the engineering schools encourage students to study abroad. I know that ME in particular is really looking to increase the number of students to study abroad. With the study abroad programs, it’s still very possible to graduate in 4 years. I actually just went to a presentation on this the other day, and there are many opportunities to go abroad for a semester, the summer, Maymester, or to do an internship.
