studying abroad & HAAS

one of my excitements of going to college is the studying abroad program

i was previously planning on studying abroad junior year, but if i were to pursue business, i would apply for HAAS

If i make HAAS, i hear the program is very competitive and difficult

would i still be able to travel abroad the beginning of the program.

or are sophomores allowed to study abroad as well?

this could possibly be the deciding factor between LA and cal

i know a few people who studied abroad their first semester at haas. so it's completely possible. and once you're in haas, the classes are relatively easy. it's getting in that's harder. and you can travel abroad any time you want (other than some of senior year because of residency requirements).

you would go to LA to major in some sort of biz-econ instead of trying for haas as berkeley just for a semester abroad? seems like a very skewed tradeoff, but that's just my opinion.

im a third year haas student (and hence first year in the program) who is studying abroad right now. pm me if you have any questions and i think i should be able to answer them
