Studying abroad in an english speaking country

Hi everyone! First post here. Anyways, I am interested in leaving the states to attend an overseas college but I'm not sure which countries I should look into. I'm not trying to learn a new language so I would like to stick to english speaking countries only. As an American would I have to worry about any prejudices studying abroad? I have never left the U.S so I'm not really sure what I should be looking for or what to expect. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

You won’t particularly encounter any prejudice in English speaking countries. If you were to study abroad in Baghdad then you probably would, but not in places like the UK / Australia / New Zealand.

In order not to encounter culture shock you should have to have a good research on a particular country you would like to study in the future. The most common problem is the language difference and the culture, and since you already mention that you still want to study in an english speaking country I think you wouldn’t have a problem on that. However, since your culture is different from them might as well as other things you need to learn how to adapt yourself in that country. Read a lot of things about that particular country then decide if you can live the way they live.

I studied abroad in Ireland and loved it. I have some friends who will be studying in Dublin next semester. The European culture in English-speaking countries doesn’t seem too hard of an adjustment.
