I'm a freshmen right now at UC Irvine and really want to study abroad in England. I've been there twice and have family there so I really like it. I was looking around my school's website and I narrowed it down to options. If I want to study in London I have to stay for the whole year. The cost actually isn't as bad as I thought--the website quoted 27,000 including housing, food, books, tuition, personal expenses, and airfare. So that's about 5-7 thousand dollars more than studying for the year here at UC Irvine.

My other option is to spend the summer studying at Cambridge. I spent a day at Cambridge this summer and absolutely loved it so I'd imagine it would be an amazing experience to spend two months studying there.

I think it would be really fun to spend the whole year studying in the UK, but I'd miss out on a whole year back here. I'd probably be fine being away from home as I don't get very homesick. Either option works as I'd get credit for classes toward my major. If I did the summer one at Cambridge a couple of my friends have also expressed interest in going so that would be fun. We could spend our 10 weeks studying at Cambridge and spend another 3-4 weeks before school starts travelling around Europe.

Anyone have any suggestions based on the experiences of others?

Thanks.
