Studying abroad, internships, and all that (mechanical engineering)

So I go to a "top 20 school" (by the USNWR) and this fall I am studying abroad at a school that is ranked very highly in the world rankings for engineering schools, higher than mine currently is. I know rankings don't really mean much, but here's the deal: because I;m studying abroad in the spring, I won't be able to take an Auto-CAD course that I've heard is vital to getting internships. I know the summer after sophomore year is when most people go for internships.

So am I making the right choice by going abroad for a semester? Will that look good on my resume? I've also never had a job before so I'm a little nervous. I can't go back on the study abroad agreement now, but I'm just curious.

I’d say it’s okay if it doesn’t delay graduation.
