hey hey, so i'm studying abroad in france next semester and i KNOW i'm going to overpack. (what? you're telling me that i DON'T need 3 pairs of black heels?? but they're all different types of black!)

so for anyone who's already gone abroad, what did you bring that you never actually ended up using?

p.s. i'm a girl - so if you're going say that you never used that pull up bar set that you brought to brazil, chances are, that item isn't even going to make it onto my "maybe bring" list. thanks!

Heres one option–My D went abroad last (fall) semester to Switzerland. The airline she booked with allowed her to bring two big suitcases. But, my D is a clothes/shoe addict. So she bought cheap shoes/boots in Europe, wore them out and threw them away there.

Option two–Keep a diary of the things you wear (wore) and use for the next two months and last month. (April , May June probably resemble Sept, Oct. and Nov. in France in reverse order) Those are the things you need. Do add a bathing suit.

You will probably be coming back in early Dec., so you do not need a lot of winter stuff.

Bring/Pack a small suitcase, duffel or backpack for weekend/side trips.

that diary idea is wonderful! I have not studied abroad, but I’m trying to figure out what I need at Cornell this summer and that might be very useful indeed.
oh, and amusez-vous cc102! make sure you take lots of pictures and put them on facebook so all of your friends can enjoy them. I love how all my high school pals have been going abroad…they have the best photo albums!
