Is it possible to study abroad for a semester in France while earning my PhD?

I want to study abroad for two different semesters (for language aquisition purposes) as an undergrad but I don't know if I'll have the time, and will be going straight to the PhD program right after graduation.

You should talk to the PhD program. It will vary immensely. For example, many particle physics programs send their students to Germany/Switzerland/Japan/the US/France/etc to wherever their experiment is for 6months to a year. It all depends on what you’re studying. If you’re doing African history, perhaps you’ll do research in Africa.

only if the trip is directly related to, and necessary for, your phd work.

phd committees are hardly interested in some nonsense ‘international experience’ for its own sake.
