Studying Abroad

I am realyl sure I want to do this. I just want to get out of the U.S. for a semester and "culture" myself in a different society. Where do you think the best place to go to study abroad is? I went to Spain for a week last year and absolutley loved it. I don't know if I would be able to survive an entire semester in a country where I was not familiar with the language, although I am fluent in Spanish.

i have heard that when people are applying for jobs, employers look highly on people who have studied abroad in a place which required them to use a foreign language proficiently. so i think that using your background in spanish could definitely be a plus for the future, although i'm sure you will have a wonderful experience wherever you decide to go.

I think anywhere that you are interested in is a good place to study, especially if you are looking to use and improve language skills. I plan to spend next spring in Kyoto, Japan. Am looking at some one month summer programs in China this summer, but really haven't decided yet whether or not to go.

if your fluent in Spanish than there should be no problem with the language. I'd say go to Spain.

where would be a cheap place to study? isn't it a lot more expensive to live in spain?

I'm thinking Spain or England for me...

look into the programs at your school. There's probably some study abroad options where you can just do a tuition transfer thing, where you just pay normal tuition for your school in the US and you get to study elsewhere.

Anywhere in Europe... well, the Dollar isn't that strong compared to the Euro. Might look at Switzerland, they use Swiss Francs, and I think $.80 = 1 Swiss Franc.

How is the exchange rate in Mexico?

I am planning to go to Spain, or possibly another Spanish speaking country. I'm not fluent yet but hopefully I'll get there.

Are you a senior now?

I'm a first year in college.
