is this advisable? i plan on using my schools textbook for more practice problems and to clear things up, but is it ok to primarily self study using a prep book?

for calc AB, yes. The textbook goes into way more detail than prepbook. u can get a five just by studying prepbook.

Ah, its nice to come and see a respectable "i need real quick advice, please!" post! Thankyou semifull and I give you my special blessings. :3

Use a prepbook. I mean, the textbook goes into more detail than needed. Make life easier on yourself, semi!

Unless you are not taking a calc course in school, that may not be the best idea. Math is one of those subjects where each author/textbook explains things differently (ex: word things differently from collegeboard or use different symbols...particularly with those damn series). If you are the type of person who is bothered by this, the best thing would be to get the notes of someone who has already taken the course. Stay as close to the real test as you can. The rest depends on your teacher. Get old collegeboard practice exams to supplement anything you do.

well i'm taking ab in school but bc is not offered, so i want to self study that. therfore, i want to get a headstart on ab over the summer so i'm not cramming at the last minute.

BC material is more challenging and harder to self-study (I would think). Make sure you have people to help you out when you need it.
