Studying for AP Biology

Hi, I am currently studying for AP Bio. Our school's AP Bio class is one year.
I found myself not really retaining information from Campbell Biology 8th Edition. When I study with prep books only, I make a better grade in quizzes and tests in the class. I decided to not read Campbell Biology but read my prep books. I use:

Cliff Notes, Barron's, Pearson AP Biology Prep Series: Biology by Holtzclaw, Princeton Review, 5 Steps to a 5, AP Bio Lab Manual by CB, and Sparknotes' Chart.

Should I use those prep books mentioned above if I make better grade by using them than Campbell Bio?

Also, I plan to buy "Biology: Concept and Connection (by Campbell)" and study along with prep books, do you think it will help?

Thanks in Advance!

If you’re getting a better grade with something that I guess I suggest continue doing whatever you’re doing to get a better grade… although it sounds completely dreadful to be studying from 8 prep books. I find Campbells to be really comprehensive of course, but if you use the Holtzclaw reading guides with it and fill them out as you go (they’re on the Campbell website to print out) then I retain a lot of the information.

I don’t know, it just seems to me like all of the time that you’re spending with those review books is a waste. I dont’ want to tell you to stop doing what you’re doing if it’s working, but I feel like you could be a lot more efficient some other way. Not really sure what to tell you.
