Studying for AP Chinese exam?

Hey guys, so I’m thinking of applying to some schools internationally and one of the requirements is that I have at least a 3 on a foreign language AP. I’m asking to see how difficult would it be to self study to just get a 3 on the AP Chinese exam starting now?

I’ve taken Chinese 2 and 3 (Chinese 4 is the AP class) in soph and junior years and am a native Chinese speaker (though alot of it is actually cantonese). Didn’t really decide to do Chinese 4 since its a pretty bad class at my school and never really expected to need to take it but my situation has changed since last year.

My listening and speaking is actually pretty solid since its still a part of my daily life and picking up new vocab has never really been a big problem for me. The part where I fail at is the reading/writing. Grammar comes easily enough but its memorizing the various characters for words that always gets to me.

Not really looking to get a 4 or 5, just need to pass to meet the requirements of the university I’m looking at.

You should be fine. Based on what you have posted you probably will get a 4 or 5. I haven’t taken the test yet, I am taking it this Thursday (wish me luck, I barely studied), but based on what my teacher and other students who have taken the test tell me, you qualify for a good score.
