Hello,
Here is the books that i am using to improve my scores on the SAT:
1. SAT Collegeboard Blue Book
2. Barron's SAT- 0764123610
3. Barron's SAT Math- 0764123653
4. Gruber's SAT- 0060581700
5. McGraw-Hill's SAT I- 0071423907

I have trouble in the critical reading (400). Which other book is also good?

The Gruber's book is so long. I opened one in the bookstore and it made this "creaking noise" everytime I opened it near the middle. It was an unpleasant noise to hear. I got #1 and #5 on your list, I'll get #4 if my scores are still bad after going through all of the practice tests and strategies in 1 & 5.

I have the Gruber book too. I didn't study it though. fat and creaky like sarorah mentioned. however it does seem to have elaborate grammar and math sections. i only took a practice test from the book and IMO it wasn't exactly like CB's test. I also had a PR book. It was pretty good though I completely avoided its math section, too much emphasis on guessing when the questions are simpler to solve. lol

If you've read the Xiggi thing, different books work better for different students. you've to study and find out which works for you.
"How can I study all the books?" umm...dunno

Grammatix is not worth 50 dollars! Get Rocketreview and the collegeboard blue book. PR 11 reals is pretty good even though they are not real tests lol.

PR 11 reals is NOT good. They suck compared to the real and are much easier. This SAT tutor near me is closing down because he was teaching with PR, and they were getting 2000 and 2100's, and then the real test came, and they all did crappy except for one girl who was already smart. The guy was charging $600/month, and everyone wanted a refund because they were expecting a better score.

11 Real Sats by PR is not worth buying... Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble users know that. As for Grammatix i do not thing that is it "great". Obviously, big corps like PR, Kaplan, and Collegeboard know more than him. On the other hand, if someone wants to hook me up with it, just PM or email me :)

I would treasure you in my deepest valves of my heart lol
Thank You

PR's 11 practice tests book is a waste of money. It came out in 2004 (meaning that the writers had never seen the new SATs before).. also, I took one of the tests and found the questions to be too easy compared to the CB's tests.

Infocenter, you may want to review your approach. You have a number of books from "big corps", yet you have problems with CR. Then, you do not think that Grammatix is "that" great, but would not mind getting a free copy. Nice!

Let me assure you that you will NOT find THE perfect book. Some books will help greatly, others a bit less. However, you'll find the answer in YOURSELF. Stop trying to find the best book and hit those practice tests. When it comes to the SAT, there are no secrets!

PS FWIW, your best bet to improve CR is none other than the guide that is not that "great'.

Get the blue book. I used that with Mr. Miller's "SAT Math for the Clueless" (hey, I am clueless!!!) and the PR book...and my score went up 215 points.

And 130 in the math :D.

P.S. The Gruber's book is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY harder than the actual SAT, isn't accurate, and makes this horribly ANNOYING rubbing sound when you move it around. >:(

There are a few that I know work...
1.) college board's official guide
2.) their official online course (GREAT!)
3.) The Mcgraw hill or whatever you call it book is really great... Instead of wasting time with get a high score quick strats they actually go into the material and don't give you stupid strats that everyone in the world is already aware of.
