I am wondering what people's experiences have been studying for the SSATs. What study guides and sample tests did you find most useful? With focused study, what increase do you think you can reasonably expect? Thanks!

The 1st time I took the SSAT my motto was "Wing it". I got an 84%.
This time around I'm using the princeton review book.
Amazon.ca: Cracking the SSAT and ISEE, 2008 Edition: Books: Princeton Review
It will be interesting to see the results.

I didn't really study for Verbal/Reading but I did a little review in Math. It helped.

first time I winged it got a like 72 I think? Studied a little and got an 83. It will absolutely help you. Everybody on this board recommends this Princeton Review book, but if you want something in addition, Kaplan makes a great SSAT book as well

If you want a challenging book to study for the SSAT then pick up a Peterson's SSAT book. The level on that is unbelievably challenging.

kaplan and princeton review. great books. Better then the expensive little thing that the ssat hands out. (altho those are good practice tests)

Thanks everyone for the tips...Anyone have experience with online tutorials like privateschoolexam.com?
