Studying for the Upcoming APUSH Test

My History teacher is pretty much terrible. So I finally am considering starting studying on my own (hopefully I am not too late). From my research, the best guides would be the AMSCO book, REA Crash Course, and Barron's Flash Cards. Are all these necessary? Spending almost $50 sound a bit much. What would would you guys recommend me using for study guides? Thanks in advance.

AMSCO and Crash Course should be fine.

You could just buy yourself AMSCO and that all you have to spend on.

I used Amsco and Crash Course and got a 5. I don’t think you need Barron’s Flash Cards.

Thanks guys. AMSCO and Crash Course it is.

Also another question. Is AMSCO more of a text book, or a sort of review guide?

AMSCO is sort of like both. Think of it as Pageant, but with all the unimportant fluff/crap removed.

It also includes helpful pointers on how to write the DBQ and the essays.

I’m using the Pageant at school and the Amsco at home. The Pageant is definitely a textbook, and like leadlol said, the Amsco is a combination. It’s much more condensed, and also comes with practice questions and DBQs that our school copies of the Pageant don’t have. It’s pretty thick, so it’s not the traditional review guide - more of a review guide on steroids (lol), or the Pageant with all the metaphors and descriptions removed.

apexamreview.com is also good for practice exams. If you take the exam it’ll tell you where you place (ie. give you a 1-5 score) and then break down what you know by category and time period. That way you know exactly where your weaknesses are. The textbook/review guide exams can’t do that so it will save you ALOT of time.

good luck

Did everyone buy those online or at borders/book store? I’ve never seen either of those. My APUSH teacher is terrible.

right book?

yup that’s the right book
