I am an EU citizen, but I'm finishing high school in the US. What do I need to do in order to attend a university in Europe, preferably Amsterdam, and get the EU students tuition?

I think it depends on why you are in the US and which country in Europe. For example, for the UK, if you are in the US because your parents are on a temporary assignment for work and maintain ties to UK or if you are only here as an exchange student and your family is still back in UK, then you would be considered a UK student for tuition purposes. If are in the US on a more permanent basis and your parents havent’ say, paid taxes to the UK govt, then you would most likely be an international student.

I see your question was specifically for Netherlands, and my research indicates as long as you are an EU/EEA citizen you will qualify for the local tuition rate.

Hope that helps

As a question back to you-I am also a dual citizen here in the US but looking at schools in Europe, including Netherlands. I’m not in an IB program…do you know what the admissions process is like and how they evaluate the US qualifications. I know they want 4 AP’s but it seems like they don’t specify what scores they require, just that you’ve taken them…

What have you been able to find out. BTW what schools are you looking at?
