Hi everyone,

I am a Grade 12 student in Canada hoping to study languages at university. I spent several months researching schools in Canada and really like what I am hearing about the languages program at U of T. In particular, I would like to study Ancient Greek and Latin, German, Russian, French, and Arabic. Can anyone here tell me about the language department at U of T? How does it compare to other universities in Canada? How are the quality of language courses at U of T in comparison to other Canadian universities (this question is the most important)?

I heard that U of T has the best language department in all of Canada but I'm not sure how credible this source is. I did check out some other universities (Queens, Waterloo, McGill, and University of British Columbia) but in comparison to U of T, language course offerings at these schools seem to be rather minimal. The language departments at these four other schools have neither as many faculty members nor as many language offerings as U of T. Can anyone share their opinion about this?

I'm avidly seeking the Canadian university where the most intensive/rigorous and best language courses are offered. In general, I'm looking for a place where I can really receive a top-notch language education!

I'd really appreciate it if anyone can provide me with their thoughts and opinions on this matter!
