I know most people will be going home for Thanksgiving, but will there be any people who stay and just use the time off to study for the upcoming finals? I'm debating whether I should go home or stay and study, waiting till winter break to go home. The only thing is that it seems like all the DC's and restaurants around here will be closed for Thanksgiving, so I guess I'll have to stock up on microwavable dinners or something >_<.

My son is staying in Unit 3 for the break. He wants to catch up on sleep and getting ready for finals. It's a lot of work to fight the crowds for only four days. He'll be home only three weeks later. Stay and study. Restaurants will be open.

I would say go home (assuming your home is not super far away)... I had this debate last year as well and I ended up with going home. It was the right decision I think. If you stay on campus, it will be sort of sad and personally, I don't think I will be able to work very hard for that four days while knowing other people are all having a very good time at home. I think going home for thanksgiving sort of give you that rest you need to be all fired up for finals. Also, no library will be open (with the exception of law library for the weekend after thanksgiving, but then undergrad can't get in anyways) so if you are the type who just can't work in your room, you won't be able to easily find a good place for studying.

Unless you can't stand your family, you should go home. When you look back on your life you're not gonna be like "man, that was f'in awesome that time I stayed by myself in my dorm room over Thanksgiving eating microwave meals and ramen!" (unless there are raging parties and such). You will be pleased that you have those memories with your family, not to mention the best home cooked meal of the year.

go home. It's depressing to stay back and study. especially when you're the only one in your dorm floor, let alone your dorm building. Let alone, celebrate your thanksgiving!

I would love to be the only one in my dorm building. One of the reasons why I'm staying. Besides winter break is only 3 weeks away so I don't think it's that big of a deal. Unless Thanksgiving is such a traditional event for you and your family.

Man, go home. Please don't stay in the dorms over the break by yourself just to study. That's got to be the most depressing thing ever. Go back home to your family, and if all else, study there.

I wanted to stay, relax, and think, but my parents insisted I come home. Personally, I feel like I need a lot of time to do some thinking on my own.

Well I'm going home! =D
I realized it would be a dull, lonely Thanksgiving Break eating microwavable crap when I could be having a feast at home.

I'm staying, studying and relaxing. I can go home on break, I never leave for Thanksgiving. It depends on your schedule, etc, but if you have a lot to get done it's really nice to only have finals to worry about after break. Makes the rest of the semester chill.
