I am a rising high school sophomore in the United States and I have decided that Oxford is the place for me and the physics department at Oxford is perfect for me as well. I understand that the entire application process for British Unis is completely different from American Unis. I understand that the test scores are what really matter along with an interview. My school doesn't really allow underclassmen to rack up on all them APs, so I think self-studying would be my best option and my school does offer an online program which provides AP Physics B and the AP Physics C classes as well. However, I may have trouble with my track/plan being altered, do you think it is worth it? For example the science track is Honors Biology in 9th grade, Honors Chemistry in 10th, Honors Physics, Honors Bio-Chem or AP Bio or Chemistry in the 11th grade, and the former options for senior year as well. I want to attempt to take every AP science class because I am crazy about anything that has to do with science anyways. My school also offers AP Computer Science as an elective, should I include that within my app.? Also, the requirements are different at my high school. History is only required for 3 years, so would it be a good idea to drop history and take on another science class? I am also thinking of applying to MIT and Rutgers, so I don't know if they would look down on dropping history. I think AP Calc BC should be included in my app. as well, but would it be a good idea to take AB as well? Clearly I am a confused little child who yearns for guidance from you all, so please, take 5 minutes out of reading to inner city children or building wells and mentoring children in Uganda to please provide me with some guidance although this won't benefit your college app. It will ease the pains of filling out mine though. So anyone, please, in the similar situation please reach out to me. Thank you for your time.

Should I also provide my PSAT score once I take the test as well? I understand subject tests are needed as well. Should I take 2 science SAT subject tests and one math? Or one math, literature, and science?

I think you are overthinking it. You just need to be good enough to get an interview. After that, nobody will care what your high school plan is like.

keepittoyourself is largely right: you are overthinking it! For Physics at Oxford you will need approx 2200 SAT, and 5s on Physics AB and BC, and Calc AB (or similar). Note that you won’t have to have all the APs before senior year- you will need a good SAT and some test scores (say, physics & calc AB; SAT IIs in maths and physics would also be good) by the end of Junior year. In that case if you got an offer it would probably be conditional on the AP scores.

But what will matter the very most is the Physics aptitude test. You can check it out here: [Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) | University of Oxford Department of Physics](<a href=“Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) | University of Oxford Department of Physics”>Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) | University of Oxford Department of Physics)

That is the hurdle that is the real make-or-break
