Studying Time for ACT

I know studying is different for each individual, but generally how long should one study for an upcoming ACT? I planning to take the test in April, but I do not want to start studying now only to forget it due to April being 4 months away.

I made a 30 this December and would like a higher score. I'm a sophomore, so I have plenty of time, I guess.

Starting as a sophomore is a great start! Also, congrats on the 30! That a really good score for your first time. If I were you, I would take it in February. Prepare for the Feb test, and then you’ll have time to see what you need to do for the April test. I don’t really know how you would study for something 4 months in advance unless you did continual work so your progress isn’t wasted. The best thing to do is just take practice tests. Get as many as you can find! Red book, PR 1296, or even online. Next, set up a schedule. For you (for April test), maybe spend a few weeks per section? Maybe review all your math and take a few practice math tests a week and review them… You could do that for each section. Then, as the test date approaches, you could start taking category tests each night. What I did was take one each night (except for Friday) so I would do one full test during the week(M-English T-math W-Reading TH-Science.) Then, I would take mock tests on Saturdays. 8am and same break and everything. This will help you become use to taking full tests. I don’t really know if that made much sense or helped…but best of luck to you!
