Studying vocabulary methods, I need advice please!!

Alright, right now I have the 1000 vocab flash cards from Spark Notes. Can anyone recommend any other good vocab lists/flash cards that consist of words used frequently on SATs?? Should I study all 1000 of the Spark Notes or switch to other brand's words?

Also, how should I study the flash cards? Should I study them alphabetically ab, ac, b___, etc.??? I've heard that putting the lists in order influences the way you remember the words. Will studying alphabetically have any bad effects??? I would really like to hear advice from those of you who have received high scores on your CR and Writing sections; whom have studied vocab of course.

Also, I have a problem of taking too much time reading a short passage, for example. Is it good to look up the definitions and meanins of every word in the book?? There are about 5 words per page that I don't recognize or are iffy about. To improve Reading Comprehension, should I practice the reading strategies while reading periodicals and such? This takes me about 2 hours for less than 30 pages!! Is the extent of reading too superfluous? My reading on my CSTs are very low. 60-70 % What should I do to improve?? Read a lot and fast? Or read little and slow?? In your opinion how should I improve my reading/writing skills + vocabulary?? I have approx 1.5 years to do so before I take my SATs.

I think that the Sparknotes list is good enough. After studying it, I'm pretty confident that I got every sentence completion right on the December SAT because either I knew the words or were able to eliminate the wrong answer choices. I just studied them alphabetically; it worked for me.
