I accidentally attached the rough draft of my persona essay on the Common App ... if I send in a fax with the final essay tomorrow (1/8/10), would that be fine? Have the adcoms already started meeting?

Also, do you think it would be a bad idea to mail the essay too? Would they frown upon duplicates?

Either mail OR fax – that’s what the Yale website always suggests. Faxed materials get processed more quickly. If you’re lucky, adcoms will consider your situation — keep your fingers crossed. Send a polite cover letter explaining what happened. Best of luck :)

although I haven’t received a confirmation e-mail from yale yet (by that i mean an ID for their online eli system). should I wait for the e-mail before contacting them about my changes or should I inform them right away?

Guys, don’t email your essays to Yale – usually, the student questions/admissions email is handled by undergraduate students (from the responses I got during my time). Usually they’d tell me to fax missing stuff or route me through to my regional admissions officer (who has access to your file). If you need to get something through to Yale, use the fax/regular mail.
