Stupid Course Selections

I thought that you could list stupid courses that your high school offers or ones that you would never take. One at my school is called Parenting. I am a girl and I still find this class to be not only stupid, but a waste of the high school's time - why not invest in a class that is actually meaningful - like Latin or another AP class? I don't think that Parenting is going to give you great study habits and knowledge for college.

Parenting is going to try to teach you how to parent… That’s is extremely useful for some individuals.

Music Appreciation, Jewelry A and B, Algebra Readiness…

Then there’s HEALTH. Goddangit I wish they didn’t require this for graduation. Now, I have to waste a whole summer or a semester in this class later on. They should waive this requirement if you have done Biology >_>

Also, for PE, I believe they should only have it for one year in freshmen year, not two years because sophomore year is stressful and is one of the two most important years in college admissions other than junior year.

Yeah, Parenting isn’t a bad class. It’s less sexist sounding than home ed too  . Do you know what is a stupid class though?

Swahili.

Algebra A and Alg. B

Health class was kinda pointless, but I got some stuff done, plus my health teacher is super hot.

^^

Be grateful that you are not required to take gym for all four years. =D

Student Aid

ACT/SAT prep…sounds nice but it’s complete BS in my school. We only worked one day a week so I just started owning in tetris. Teacher operated on a 1st degee creeper scale

I hate creeper teachers. Ugh, they bother me.

He was the guy’s basketball coach too but he got fired from both lol.

Ewwness. I’m glad my civics teacher from 10th grade was fired. Creeper to the max.

I have to take gym for four years. Plus I can’t play in gym for medical reasons so I have to sit there and KEEP SCORE, which the gym teacher usually does. I could be using that time as a study hall, or something more productive :(

Hahahaha is this sarcastic? That Parenting class sounds like the only useful thing you’ll take out of high school…

We have a Math Money Management class, and it teaches all about finance and bills and crap. It’s counted as a math course, but it’s usually for those who can’t handle higher-level math.

^^^^^ lol there is this computer teacher at my school who was caught by either a teacher or some students watching pornography. and then i heard that once, when a girl was wearing short shorts and bent down, that he just stared at her up and down her legs and bottom. o___O it’s weird that he wasn’t fired though but that the girls’ softball coach was this year, who had written a sexual innuendo joke on a post-it note and given it to one of the girls on the team.

Geez, who watches porn at school? It the county next to mine, some admin. looked at porn the school-issue blackberry. Moron.

^…Am I the only one who misunderstood the 2nd half of said sentence…?

We have History of Rock and Roll as an arts class

Also, Digital Communications. It teaches basic computer skills. Like how to use word and powerpoint. This wouldn’t be so bad…except it’s required. All freshman take a semester of digicom and a semester of history instead of a FULL YEAR of history. its the reason they canceled AP Euro, cuz kids were no longer prepared for the class as a sophomore.

^ I feel like I learned digicom skills in like 2nd grade… and I would take History of Rock n Roll for arts credit in a heartbeat. I’m not an artsy person at all.

^^^ Yeah, I screwed the sentence up. Dude was caught looking at porn on the school-issued Blackberry. Ding-dong.
