Hey all- am doing the online part II right now and I have a stupid question about the essays. The instructions indicate to copy and paste from a word processing document, which I have done, but it gives me insane looking tabs and spaces.

The tabs are kind of essential for the paragraph form of the essays, though. Should I keep them as is, try to reduce them, or get rid of them completely?

My D already submitted hers, but now she is wondering about the formatting too. Do you reformat the essay once you copy and paste it, or do you leave it as is (without tabs)? She just added three spaces before the start of each paragraph. What she was also unsure about was the Works Cited. It completely reformatted her Works Cited page and would not allow her to format it correctly once she pasted it in. Any ideas?

no u dont need to reformat it…when they read it they read it on a word processor which redoes the tabs and such that were there when u copied it in

I highly doubt they’d mark down an essay that isn’t formatted correctly. Its really difficult to get it to work with the online form. They need to get into the 21st century with this stuff! (Or join common app!!!)

^We’re computer savvy in this house, but after struggling with the online version, it was clear that it would be 100 times simpler to do the paper version.
