seems fine, though i’m confused on what “another matter on that subject” can be if it’s not an example. Just have thesis, sub-theses, strong evidence/warrant (emphasis on the warrant) and an existent (mine are always short and to the point) conclusion.

Really, I think playing around with diction and syntax get you to the top. I got 2 12s.

It doesn’t really matter. That format is fine. The MOST important thing to use in your essay is reasoning. Don’t just recite plot details or things you know about your examples. You have to use the examples to strengthen your argument. Your essay should also be coherent. Don’t write about things that don’t help your argument or your logic. Then you’re set. You don’t even need a conclusion if you have a really good argument. But obviously if you have time left over you should write one. Dedicate your time to answering the question, not constructing or planning the essay, using difficult vocabulary, and trying to sound smart in your intro and conclusion. Just THINK about the question and use whatever pops in your head, even if it is not a distinct example like a historical event or literary piece.

oh alright!.
i been hearing contradictory theories.
5 paragraph essay will score better than a 4 paragraph because length plays a major part in the graders score.

“5 paragraph essay will score better than a 4 paragraph because length plays a major part in the graders score.”

but understand that you can have 4 longer paragraphs that are equal in length to 5 paragraphs. Just try to get all five paragraphs in as big a space as possible.
