Stupid Graduation requirments

Okay so here is my deal. As most of you know I have really GPA but I plan to majorly improve it. Another thing I plan to do too make up for the low grades it take harder classes. However i have run into a problem. My stupid graduation requirements. Here is the deal I still need 1 art/visual art credit. But I want to take these classes for the next to years:

Junior:[ul]
[]AP English Language/Composition
[]AP United States History
[]Pre AP Calculus with Trigonometry
[]AP Biology
[]AP Chemistry
[]Pre AP Latin III
[li]Newspaper[/ul]
[/li]

Senior:[ul]
[]AP English Literature and Composition
[]AP US Government/AP Comparative Government
[]AP Statistics
[]AP Physics B
[]Senior Capstone (required)
[]AP Latin IV
[li]Newspaper[/ul]
[/li]

What should I do?! Also on a simi related note does Newspaper count as an EC even though it is a class, since we do like all our work outside of class?

Uh, you pick a class to drop and replace it with an arts credit.

But which and when?

I’m surprised that newspaper doesn’t count as an arts credit.

^I agree, that should be acceptable.

But…I don’t know. That’s something you decide based on your interests, your previous schedule, how much work you wanna have, etc.

I’d do it as soon as possible, though, so you can do what you want senior year.

The only class I can see you dropping is Precalc. You shouldn’t need it for Stats. Unless you would like to drop the sacrosanct newspaper class for just one year. If it’s mostly outside work anyways, that shouldn’t be too much of a sacrifice.

EXACTLY!!! They say newspaper counts as a technology credit! W T F! I am going to talk to administration when I go back to school.

@bpsbgs Have to take a math every year in high school (other requirement). And no can’t drop it really connected with teacher and like everything is going bad for her and alot of people are dropping out of her classes at the last second so I would feel to bad to do that…

dont you need to take physics with precalc?? idk if its just my school or everyother school.

Our school says you need to know calculus to take Physics (yeah ik dumb)

Try and fill the art requirement with a summer class. Talk to the administration and see how open they are to you taking a class at a college/community college.

^^^ i agree with thsfan345 ; im gonna take a half credit art course this summer to fulfill it .

@adababy845 Please do not do 3 carrots if you are referring to the post right above your’s its confusing

@thsfan345 and @adababy845 I can’t take summer classes everyone at my school is required to get like 100 something volunteering hours and I only have about 10 or so I need to catch up on them (it goes on your transcript) so I am going to be volunteering alot during the summer

sorry about that. andd have you considered taking an online course ?
im taking a spring AP psych online course through john hopkins so i can have time for my summer course

What should I do? (Sorry for thread jacking, but I have the exact same problem)

Senior Schedule:
AP Calc
AP Physics C
AP English
AP Comp Sci B (I took it sophomore year and I want to learn the higher level… But really more time for programming for robotics)
AP Gov or AP Econ (Both GREAT classes)
Football

I need an art credit, summer probably will not be open. I applied for an internship that goes from 8 am to 10 pm. I might not even be able to make it for football hell week because of the internship.

You could always try online classes. I know someone who took a fashion design course online for an occupational education credit. And cheap online classes tend to be very easy, so it won’t even take much time.

But online classes cost $$$ which I do not have

bump please help

im sure you could find cheap ones? try your local community college.

So like would I see if the college had any high school courses or what?

No you actually take college courses.
