Hi, I applied to UCLA, UCB, and UCSD as biology major. I was bored and just going over my application yesterday and figured out that I made a stupid typo on one of my EC activities.

Not only that, I took an Intermediate Algebra course a year a go and didn't list it on my application because it was non-transferable and there was no option to choose the course. I had no idea I had to manually input non-transferable courses. It was a 5 unit course and I got an A from the class, so obviously I wasn't trying to hide a bad grade or anything.

Another mistake I made only matters to UCSD and it's that I selected the UCSD tag program when I NEVER applied to TAG. I didn't know I had to applied to TAG separately from the UC app and I thought that by selecting the UCSD TAG program on the UC app, I was applying for UCSD TAG.

I am freaking out now and don't know what to do... Do I just have to email UC headquarters on the UC app website or the admission of each UC I applied to?

I don't think I am going to mention my typo in the email and I will just tell them about the non-transferable course I took. And should I tell UCSD about the TAG since it's somewhat falsifying my info? or would they just ignore it since I didn't apply for TAG in the first place.

I have 3.90+ GPA and overall decent essays and EC. I just don't want to look bad! (although what I did was seriously stupid...) PLEASE HELP!

what? We have to include non-transferable classes? I took two math classes that don’t transfer, obviously I got A’s in both. I really need to include that?

I got a question… if i want 2 major in maths… but i had to do all the beginner classes like fractions, pre algebra, algebra 1 and 2… will they not like me?

So I contacted the application center about my mistake and they told me the following:

"Thank you for contacting the UC Application Center.

The courses that you will be able to update during the transfer academic update are “In Progress” and “Planned” courses. You may send your changes in by mail to the UC Application Center. At this point, there is no guarantee that your changes will be received in time to be updated within your application.

If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us again."

I asked her if there was a certain form I should fill out and whether I should contact each school directly. It is unclear how serious this may be, I’m not too worried but still stressing me about a bit. Anyways, if you have a similar problem those are the directions.

I forgot to put an intermediate algebra class in my application as well, how did it pan out for you guys? i emailed the uchelp, hopefully this isnt too serious.

lol I posted this a year ago! It’s embarrassing freaking out so much…haha I think I called the UC headquarter and they told me to put it in the additional info section when I was updating my application. I guess since it was a non-transferable course, and it was only one course I forgot to include, the lady on the phone told me I won’t have to worry at all as long as I put it in the additional info before the TAU deadline. I recommend calling them instead of emailing them because you will get a faster response. Good luck!

and if this put you at ease, I did got into all the schools I’ve applied with no problem including Cal and UCLA so call them now to make sure and don’t worry too much! :)

Just wondering OP, how’d you apply bio major if the pre-reqs for math is Calc 3 and you took Algebra a year ago? Did you finish all of those math classes in that span?

@uclaplz uhm yes. I took int algebra in spring 2011, pre-calc in fall 2011, calc 1 in winter 2012 and calc 2 in spring 2012. I finished up to only calc 2 when I applied last year because until last year the bio pre-req didn’t require calc 3. I am applying again this year but I am not going to take calc 3 because they just added that this year and I don’t think it will hurt my chances…? haha idk
