I just noticed on the university's website that "ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2005." But I also just checked my credentials and they still don't have my English teacher's recommendation! I e-mailed my conselor, but do you guys think they'll still accept my teacher's recommendation?? Man I thought all the stresses of college apps were behind me...

Something similar happened to me (not at Chicago, though). I'll repeat what I was told: have your teacher fax the recommendation to Chicago ASAP (Monday), and then mail a copy. If you know your teacher sent a rec (and it got lost), let them know. Chicago will probably accept it, but your admissions counselor would know for sure.

First, do you know for a fact that your English teacher didn't send the report? They are almost certainly not up to date on entering the buckets of mail they get. Maybe you should call them on Monday and ask.

Second, Let's say your teacher didn't send it in. That needs immediate follow up. One of the schools my d applied to asked for a copy of a teacher rec to be faxed from the school directly to them after they couldn't track it down. That would be a really quick fix for Monday as well.

Thanks. I'm just kind of worried because they explicitly say that all applications must be complete by yesterday. I will get my teacher to send another copy on Monday, I just hope it won't be a big deal for the university. But Chicago isn't the strictest of schools when it comes to sticking unwaveringly to deadlines, so I'm sure it will be alright. That's one of the things that I love about the university.

Can anyone else not see the "status credentials" link anymore or is that just me? I still want to see if they recorded my recommendation...

I can't access mine...
