stupid question...plz help

I talked to my counselor about taking classes at the community college for credit. She said my school gives credit for taking classes at a community college but does not for online classes.

When she says the school gives credit, this means that it will show up on my transcript and it will count for my GPA right? So an A in a CC course, is a 5?

um an A is a 4, right? i mean we have dual enrollment courses with a community college, and and A is a 4

In general, if you are awarded credit, that means the school recognizes that you have taken X number of hours for a 'Pass'. Grades are not typically transferred over, although this is not universally true. You are less likely, for example, to get an actual grade to transfer at a private institution than at a public institution.

So, while I doubt that your actual grade will transfer, the only way you can know for sure is to call your registrar's office and find out. I the grade does transfer for you!

so it wont even help my GPA?

We leave two periods early for the CC. So to cover those two periods, our school puts in a fake class. I think on my transcript it comes up at "diversified occupations" but they just mark it as a pass/fail thing.

the actual classes I take at the CC are on a totally different transcript, the only time the school see's it is when I have to show it to the GC so she can make sure I'm not just skipping school.

so the classes you take at CC wont help your GPA?
