Stupid question :$

I FINALLY got my high school transcripts...first time I've ever seen them. Wow, I'm an awful person and CC people are going to come after me. The thing is, it seems like I have a better GPA than I thought. I'm guessing it's because of weighting? It says GPA: 4.08...so, if anyone knows how to find out my "raw" UW GPA, please help (and please excuse my awful grades - I didn't give a s*** in high school :D )

So...I don't know what my real GPA is. I did have a decently strong courseload...so that may have weighted it a lot. Anyone have any idea how they came up with a 4.08 out of that? I want to know what colleges will actually be considering my GPA to be...

4.08? Strange, I calculate you using my highschool system, and your GPA comes out to be 3.38 weighted. I can't claim that my highschool system is infallible or that it reflects how colleges calculate your GPA. Nevertheless, a 4.08 to a 3.38 is a HUGE difference.

P.S.
Don't feel bad, I received an 75 in Cal AB. I just didn't care after I got into college.

hmm I'm calculating a 3.51 weighted and 3.16 unweighted.
One thing for sure, your GPA is NOT 4.08....

One thing for sure: my GPA on my transcript IS a 4.08 :D

I'm just wondering why...but that's what they'll see.

brand. can you please be kind enough to list what is considered A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, etc.... at your school?

cuz I'm calculating yours based on:

A= 92-100
A- = 90-91
B+ = 87-89
B = 83-86
B- = 80-82
C+ = 77-79
C = 73-76
C- = 70-72

and considering AP courses and Honors Courses (including Pre-APs)

That's a good question...I'm probably gonna have to talk to my old high school counselor to find out for sure, since that info isn't listed on the transcript.

oi, why are you at community college with those grades? they aren't bad. in some respects my grades turned out much worse.

your grades may be weighted based on AP/Pre-AP class status. for instance my gpa was a 3.4 unweighted (from A=4, B=3, etc.) and a 4.5 weighted, according to my school.

yeah they said that final grade is 4.08 W. But colleges use your UW don't they? I'm going to go ahead and talk to my counselor to see how the grading system worked.

I'm at a CC because I was stupid in high school. This is the first time I've ever seen my transcript, if that gives you any idea of my sense of direction back then.

it's ok, my grades were worse in high school

if you dont have at least a 4.3 in high school, i'd have to say you're pretty pathetic. lol i'm surprised you even had the balls to post your stats. i mean, lets face it, those are some sorry grades....pathetic.

Does your school use a 5.0 scale?

yeah i agree ilovecalifornia i'm not even worthy of community college

sweetny - I think so...An A in AP receives a 5.0 I think? I'm going to go find out this week.
