Stupid tests, stupid collegeboard

True, now nobody cares what I did or didn't do in 7th grade, but the adcom at my high school did. The same reasoning applies.

That said, I still wouldn't trade my 5 APs for any other classes. Love 'em.

WOW, you actually had to be admitted to your high school!

If the AP workload is so torrential, then why not sit back, relax, take fewer AP classes, and still do well enough to get into most colleges? The higher the stats of the average student at a particular school, the more unpredictable the admissions process is. Schools with an average SAT of 1400+ and guaranteed admission for anyone with sufficiently high stats are as common as Mandy Moore fans who like to smash beer cans against their foreheads.

It's a private school, so yeah.

I think the feeling is...many people on this board aren't applying to "most" colleges...they're applying to places where every applicant is top-notch, therefore is expected to have a challenging courseload and top grades. That said, many people do overdo it a bit.

Do you go to Montgomery Blair somebodynew???

i regret taking 2 ap classes this year.....i'm like dying........

Gurlnextdoor, no.

Georgetown Prep.

Starting to hit a rhythm in my APs. Finally broke 90 on an Art History test, got an A on Lit paper, and got a 94 on a Physics test. Today I'm helping my chances for an A in Lit by seeing "Much Ado About Nothing" and writing a review. If it weren't for the Stanford Application being due in THREE FREAKING DAYS (counting today and Nov 1 - thank you online application), I'd be relaxing.

I loved Much Ado About Nothing! We read it freshman year, and it was our Fall Drama last year! Whoo go Shakespeare! We're reading Julius Caesar now.

theoneo, it was an awesome play. The Folger people had it set in Post WWII England...with Benedick and the rest of the gang being American soldiers returning from the war. I laughed a lot.
