I just submitted a supplement essay that was intended for College A.
However, the supplement essay was a "why this college" essay so my intro&conclusion were similar with my other "why this college" essays. I basically copy-and-pasted some of the sentences from the introduction of the supplement essay for College B. I thought I replaced all of the names, but I did not catch one name and I pressed upload.
I sent an e-mail to the adcoms of College A, attached the corrected essay file, asking if they could please disregard the essay that was uploaded onto common app and replace with the one I am sending them right now.

Do any of you know anyone who has made the same copy-and-paste mistake? Do you think the adcoms will look at both my original essay and the new essay?

I know this is the stupidest mistake I've ever made in my life. I want to kill myself, so please don't say how stupid I am or how I should just give up on this college A. College A is one of my top-choice colleges.

It’s not the first or last time this has ever happened. The schools all know you are applying to other schools. You’ve done what you can to fix it and chances are they don’t want to read any extra essays, so you should be fine.

Haha thanks guys. That post just made my day… And apparently the person got in to Yale despite of that hilarious activity. I’m still dead worried though… I hope it turns out like what M’s Mom said.
