Sturdier than iPhone.

I had a dumb phone for years, and finally got an iPhone 4 last year. I love it, but I have one issue. I'm always afraid I'm gonna drop it or break it or something. I have a few friends that have dropped their iphone 4 and shattered it, which i guess is why im paranoid lol. As a result, I keep my phone in a big clunky otterbox. It keeps is safe, but it's too bulky to easily put it in my pocket and I don't like the way it looks. My question is, what is a smart phone that is comparable to the iPhone but sturdier? I love everything else about my phone, and I wouldn't switch until my contract ran out anyway, I was just wondering if there was a less breakable smart phone with similar capabilities as the iPhone 4.

My parents have the Samsung Stratosphere, and those are pretty sturdy.

I have the same fear about my iPhone; I have a Speck rubber wrap-around cover that has so far saved it when dropped. It’s not as big and clunky as some covers, but cleary doesn’t afford as much protection, but maybe just enough.

My galaxy S2 is completely unscathed after a number of falls, and its still competing with the iphone 4S.

Samsung Rugby Smart:

Just get a device that uses real Gorilla Glass. That’s most of the high-end Android phones existing, which include all of the Samsung Galaxy models and most of the HTCs (esp. the One X).

The main question is whether or not you’d like the Android user experience. It’s quite inconsistent compared to iOS. Despite that, I still use an Android mainly because of the fact that I don’t believe in owning devices that are so fragile as to require a custom, ugly case to protect.

I don’t believe in owning devices that don’t run iOS. None of our iPhones have ever broken, partly thanks to standard attractive thin rubber covers that cushion everyday knocks. A colleague with a bare iPhone did crack its backside, though it still works.

The Motorola Droid Razr is made of Gorilla glass and Kevlar. And it is incredibly thin for a 4G phone.
