Stuttering in the Interview--How much will it hurt?

Hi all!

When I had interviews, I stuttered quite a bit because I was nervous and I have a speech problem (although I don't stutter when not nervous.) What I said was good and clear and all, but I was just wondering how much stuttering will hurt you.

Thanks

I don't think that it will be a problem. It's expected that applicants will be nervous in interviews. Also, interviewers shouldn't count disabilities against applicants.

I agree, I don't think stuttering will hurt you unless it was to the point where the interviewer could not understand you, then you might have a problem. But I think most people get nervous and they understand that.

Don't even give it a second thought.

I agree - not a problem, but I think it isnt a bad idea to own the problem by mentioning it. "I apologize - I stutter a bit when I am nervous".

i have to do an audition and i have horrible interview anxiety. as long as you're true to yourself and say what you need to say, they'll know its a nervewracking thing for you to go through...hopefully.
