Congratulations to you both, @outtahere2017 and @haleybutinaaaa !! Did you get your decisions via an admissions portal or snail mail? My D applied several weeks ago and has not heard yet.

@xanthippe I received my acceptance via snail mail! I’m pretty sure they only sent out a few acceptances early. Assuming your D applied EA, she should be hearing back by December 1st at the latest!! Please, keep us updated!

Thanks for the info! I’ll post here after she gets her decision.

My daughter is a freshman this year at SU. She loves it! The art students were bused to Manhattan one day. They were dropped off at the Metropolitan Art Museum, but they were free to do whatever they liked. She is really happy she chose to attend the school. Good luck to all of you!

@MaineLonghorn That’s awesome!! I was accepted into SU’s creative writing major, which I know is a great program because I did one of their summer camps. The campus is so beautiful and the professors are incredible! My only real concern is that it really is in the middle of “Pennsyltucky”, and coming from a city, I don’t know how “entertained” I’d be there (which I know shouldn’t be a huge deciding factor, but I’m still iffy about). Do you know if they do trips like that often?

I know they run shuttles to Philadelphia and DC. I’ll ask my daughter. She’s had no problem staying entertained, though. Every time she calls, she’s off to do something else with her friends. She’s a photography major for now.

I just got accepted with the 28K Presidential Scholarship! I also got notice by snail mail. It’s a safety school, but the more I read about it, the more I’m starting to like it. I’m hoping to study Music and Creative Writing, and Susquehanna looks great for these!

Am updating with my D’s application status: she was accepted, with the $28k presidential scholarship! She is still waiting to hear from several other schools, but we are impressed with the beautiful campus, breadth of majors and the warm, personal quality of all the interactions we’ve had with Susquehanna students and faculty thus far. Seems like a great school!

I was accepted about two weeks ago with the 28k presidential scholarship!

Took two honors classes (English 2 and 20th Century to Early 1900s) and two AP’s (English 3 and java) in all of high school. The java course also doubles as a FDU college course.

EC’s:

  • Member of GSA
  • Tennis
  • School volunteer work
  • Volunteer at elder home regarding technology
  • Tech Associate at Staples

I’m really not a good student, to be honest. I think my essay is getting the key to acceptance/grant money for a lot of these colleges because I wrote about being gay and they’re all about diversity and acceptance.

SU is not my first choice, though. Goucher is what I’m looking for. Just thought I would post my stats for other people.

Kind of like reverse discrimination if you think about it.

Hello! I was accepted a few months ago for the class of 2021! I received a 35k scholarship and another 5k in loans!
My stats: GPA W 3.7, ACT 26. I took 5 AP’s, 4 Honor courses.
EC’s: Editor of zephyr literary club, Co-President of Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse, tons of volunteering, worked 3 jobs(currently only 1, what a relief! :)) ), and won 3rd place in the regional Science Olympiad Microbiology Competition.

Congrats to everyone else who got it, and good luck to everyone who is waiting for a decision!! :x :)>-

Congratulations! That’s a wonderful scholarship. I hope you like SU as much as my daughter has.

My Son has decided to go to Susquehanna, it was a safety at first but then it won him over the others. I made him apply to 16 colleges and he got accepted to 15. Susq. offers all he wants, great scholarships and FA package, CS program, Study abroad program.

Only concern is that is in a rural area 3 hours from home.

@MOMoFJ, my daughter just finished her freshman year at SU. She has had a wonderful experience so far. You are fortunate that he will be only three hours from home! We are 500 miles away. It takes about nine hours to drive one way. Is your son going to play in the jazz band? Did he apply for the scholarship for non-music majors? My daughter got one. $1k per year and includes weekly private lessons at no extra charge.
