SUB 3.0 potential...and a PhD?

I don’t know about other people out there but I am constantly struggling to maintain a 3.0 in my graduate program - and before that in my undergrad work - because of a ridiculous accumulation of lateness points. My husband is a heart patient with multiple conditions…I can’t count how many times I’ve been on a laptop in the ER or the hospital trying to get things finished for school. If I was never late, I’d probably have a 4.0.

So now the question becomes, is it possible to get accepted into a doctoral program without the coveted, benchmarked, required 3.0?

You might want to email a few departments to see what they say- contact the Director of Graduate studies. At some schools, your application would be flagged as ineligible and might not even make it to the department’s admissions committee.

What about staying in your graduate program for a Ph.D. – assuming that degree is offered at your current school?
