Subject A Exam

Due to a family emergency on friday, May 12th, I was unable to go and take the Analytical Writing Placement Examination (Subject A Exam). I plan to call the AWPE tomorrow and see what my options are, but nerves are kicking in and I was curious as to see if anyone knew if there was a make-up day.

Anyone know anything?

You can always take the exam on campus in the fall

i couldn't go either due to the san joaquin section finals.

you can take the test at freshman orientation in the fall

The AWPE is scheduled throughout the summer on the UCI campus, so don't worry.

UCI? Is there a schedule for the make up dates?

I also missed they may exam and I am really stressed about taking this exam, I really want to know the dates of the make-ups.

You can take it during the first few days before classes actually start. But it costs like $65, so be sure to bring money or else you'll HAVE to take the workload class.

don't worry

I failed the Analytical Writing Exam for the stupidest reason. i wrote my essay on scratch paper and did not give myself enough time to copy it back down to the test. Thus i only wrote 1/2 of my paper. Stupid instructors wouldnt let me finish. and my scratch paper where my essay was couldnt go with my test. ANYWAY. as a result i failed. and now i have to take whatever classes. MY QUESTION is.... can i re-take the test again? BECause i know that i am more than qualified for regular english. just stupid time managment messed me up.

thanks for help

You have the option to retake it in fall, but make sure you don't repeat the same mistake again!

i failed it too. i know by taking eng100 (workload 57) at city college SCC over the summer can satisfy this requirement, but do u guys know if taking eng300 instead will do it? im guessing.. it should since its a harder class... does anyone know? thanks!

I failed it and I'm a pretty good writer. Gah I just couldn't concentrate in that classroom. Hirokei, I'm not sure about your case but in the letter that they sent us which informed us if we passed or failed, there was a section for what UC Davis students should do. There is a number in there, call it. I did and theres a really nice lady who can answer all your questions. :) She did it for me.
