Subject matter teaching degree

Does anyone have any information on becoming an English teacher?

Plans are to ultimately become an English professor; however, in order to support my
PhD education, I would like to teach high school English.

I have been unable to find how one would go about this from the Rutgers website.

I am planning on being an English major - after four years, would I be able to obtain a teaching certificate? Do I need to get the masters for the teaching certificate? Do I need
to major in something different?

I have been accepted into the School of Arts & Sciences NB and the Honors program.

Thx

wow, finally, something that I know something about! It’s a five-year program.
