Subject test scores and general discussion

Aww I’m sorry jater, I was really counting on these scores. Are you a senior or a junior?

im a junior. im a junior. yeah.

First attempt and 800 Math II, 800 Physics and 800 Chem! HAPPY!

btw, 700+ in literature is awesome! I would rather have 700+ literature than 750+ chem

iamthebist have u applied anywhere already?

@iamthebist : 700+ is good enough??? Really? I didn’t know.
BTW congrats everyone for the scores

@karan -yeah…literature is hell tough!
@undergrad2016 - not yet

wth iamthebist!! u scored some 2250+ or 2300+ in SAT1 and then a perfect score in SAT2? WOW!!! ur outa this world man!!! o.O

and yeah, literature is hell tough!! :|

@rewant24 - no no no! i got a 2140! and geting a perfect score in SAT Subject isn’t that hard. There are thousand others.

I dunno about chem but a lot of people (12% math 2 and 8% physics) got perfect scores in 2009. So ours aren’t really special. But to anyone who doesn’t know about SAT 800 sounds awesome. Experienced it first-hand today. It was fun :D

Didn’t see this thread ^^, I only did SAT2 literature in standby testing as I’ve already done math and bio.Got a 760, which was a pleasant surprise.

haha iamthebist, those are amazing scores for your first go. When I did SAT2 math II I found it hard !! (720–>780).

Got 770 in Math 1 and 770 in Math 2 .My first attempt.One more year to go before I apply in 2013 .So no complaints.
Should I retake this test next year or is 770 adequate ?

Which test are you talking about? Math I? No. Math II? Definitely yes. It’s easy to get a 800 on Math IIC, especially considering the generous curve and our CBSE/ICSE background.

And if you are thinking of applying to any technical college you would be better off taking a subject test in the sciences to complete the requirements. However, if you are more of a liberal arts type of person, you could substitute this subject test with a humanities subject test. But remember, most universities will only consider one of the Math scores, not both.

Thanks.I took both math subject tests.Will take phy chem next June or so.

@tanArch31

Actually I am a sophomore

Not that i can do anything about it now, but would a Math II have helped my case more? I took Chem and Lit (750,700). Are they both taken as ‘soft subjects’, (like in India)?

I think math 2 and physics should be considered ‘soft’ due to the curve. lit. sure isn’t soft.

Hmm…But do the admissions people think so? :open_mouth: Thanks Karan, i feel better :)

I find it amazing how everyone on this website gets 800 on SAT math 2 !!! I mean it is soo much harder than the reasoning test.
