Subject Tests or Not

My son did well on the ACT with writing (SAT was just OK) and a lot of his schools will accept it in lieu of the SAT and subject tests. However some schools (Emory, William & Mary etc.) seem to be interested in your SAT subject test scores whether you took the SAT or the ACT.

When a college states that "Subject Tests will be considered if submitted" will it hurt the applicant to send in just the ACT scores and NOT to submit subject test scores?

If the SAT IIs are not required, then sending in the ACT should be fine. Since schools which require the SAT IIs will often take the ACT instead (not all of them, of course), then it is reasonable to infer that schools that merely recommend or "consider" them should also accept the ACT in lieu of the "considered" SAT IIs.

I wouldn't worry about it.
