Hi, I took two subject tests in November and got 780+ on both tests (language and history). I submitted those for all the schools I’m applying to. I took a third (literature) in December for Georgetown and got an okayish score, 670. I talked to my counselors and they both seemed to think that it was worth self-reporting on the Common App, even to the higher tier colleges. I’m not sure if I should report it to colleges that I’ve already submitted my apps to though. Personally, I don’t think it’ll really help or hurt me either way, but if it’s something where I can input it into a portal I think I’ll add it in. If it’s something where I have to email them though I think I just won’t report it.
Georgetown is the only college that asks for 3 Subject Tests; the others will all consider the top 2, so I see no value in sending the third.
Okay, with most of the colleges I’ve already sent my app to, I’d have to email them to self-report my score so it’s not worth it in my opinion. I think I’ll just report it to the remaining schools on my list (2 Ivies and Georgetown) since it’s easy to do so.
For the 2 Ivy League schools, it’s not worth the time or effort, and a 670, while it won’t hurt, certainly does nothing to enhance your application. But it’s your choice.
