Subject Tests

Hey Guys,

Quick Questions:

What range of scores are Ivies looking for in subject tests?
Which subject tests are the best to take, or should I say look the best in an application?
If I score really high on math 1 or math 2 will that make up for a relatively low score on the math portion of the reasoning?

Pertaining to question 2,
Spanish was my first language and I know that I can probably pull off an 800 on it. Should I take this exam or will colleges see me as taking the easy way out? Thanks.

1) Whatever you're good at, just don't make it too similar (don't take both chem & bio, or Math I and Math II).
2) I'd take it as a 3rd SAT II, and if you're going to take three tests, as the last one. If you grew up speaking Spanish as a first language, you should be proficient at it. Having an extra "800" in there couldn't hurt though.

The Math I SAT II has easy to medium problems but a nastier curve, and the Math II has medium to hard problems with a much more lax curve. There is testing fatigue to factor in there- I'd try to do well on one of the math SAT IIs.

Your post is well written (I wouldn't have guessed you were a non-native English speaker by your post), but I'd consider taking some sort of English Language (Literature maybe) SAT II to demonstrate that you are very fluent in both languages.
