I’m planning on applying to the School of Visual Arts at BU and I’m wondering if it’s really necessary that I take the SAT subject tests in order to get in. I have a 4.0 GPA unweighted, a cumulative score of 2090 on my SAT’s and a 32 on my ACT, I do community service, participate in extracurriculars, and hold leadership positions. Since the SAT subject tests are only recommended for applicants to SVA at BU, do you think that I will be rejected if I don’t take them?

i think its a requirement for admission, wel thats the case for me

Well if its recommended for applicants to SVA, I think you should do it. Since your SAT1 and ACT scores are relatively high, I don’t think that the SAT2 tests should be difficult for you at all. If you don’t do well on those tests, just try to blow them away with an amazing essay!

You can take ACT in lieu of SATIIs. I’m in SMG and I never took SATIIs.

It wouldn’t hurt to take them because you seem like a well-rounded student. As Alectricity said, just write an amazing essay if the scores aren’t too good. Or, you don’t have to send it.
