What's the story with subject tests at Delaware? Not required officially, but required in fact? Did you all take them?

(Having computer trouble and the Del website keeps crashing it, so I can't look this up.)

My son took 1. I know others who didn’t take any. I think for the honors program, it may be necessary.

Necessary for the honors program…handemom is correct…

Unless it has changed - none for regular admissions, 2 for Honors.

Please note that for students graduating in 2007 and later, the SAT Reasoning and/or ACT with Writing must be submitted for admissions consideration. Test scores without a writing component will not be accepted. Two SAT Subject tests of the student’s choosing are recommended, especially for Honors Program applicants, but not required.

The above is from the UD website. My S did not submit SAT II scores and he got into the Honors Program without a problem.

My D took one and got into honors.

My D did not take any subject tests and was admitted to honors.

My S also did not take any subject tests and is in the honors program.

May I ask one more question please? For those who were admitted to honors without the tests, what year did your child apply? Thanks so much.

My D is a freshman.

My S is a freshman.

My D is a freshman.

My S is a sophomore.
