Submission of Application Twice--HELP!!

Here's the situation.

While running a 104 F fever about 2 months ago, I decided that it was a good time to finish my application. I already had done several drafts of my essay; one more and it would have been good to go. However, in my haste (and frustration, I am ashamed to admit), I gritted my teeth, filled out the entire application in the span of 30 minutes, clicked SUBMIT-SUBMIT-YES-SUBMIT and ended up giving in a copy of my application with the unvarnished essay.

And then, two days later, upon realizing the immense foolishness of my actions (the fever had gone down to about 101 or so), I decided to re-submit the application.

Aside from the obvious stupidity of that move, does anyone think the adcom will take my second and not my first app? And supposing that either of my apps aren't used as wastebasket liners because of the obvious lack of writing skill in my addled essay, how badly will this kill me?

If it helps, my interviewer lurved me. My "Why Georgetown?" answer was not one of the best, but the best she's ever heard. Will that help to counterbalance my ineptitude?

If I were you, I’d call Admissions ASAP to explain the situation. They will likely inform you whether or not they took the first or second submission of your application, and this will hopefully alleviate some of your worry.
Unfortunately, they may not take the second submission (the Common App would never allow you to re-apply if you made a mistake, so I don’t see why Georgetown would).
I’m sorry!

Aw, darn. Well, thanks for the advice!
