I looked on Brown's website, and it says that the app should be submitted by March 1. Does this mean that they have to have it, or that it just needs to be postmarked by March 1? I was a little confused...Thanks.

Please? Honestly, no one else is applying to Brown? Because that'd be pretty sweet for me, but somehow I doubt it...

postmarked i believe

Merci! Let's hope.

I am applying to Brown, I was perplexed by that myself, but I am quite sure it means postmarked, if I remember correctly when I called them.

When in doubt, contact Brown, not CC !!!

IMHO, "submit by" means that it needs to be in the hands (electronically or otherwise) by March 1.

I have been wrong before, but why are you waiting to the last minute anyway, especially since February is a short month. That is very dangerous. The Brown servers could go down, your car could break down on the way to the post office, etc.

You should submit everything by Saturday at the latest, so that it is in the hands of Brown by March 1.

You are wrong again. Brown does not accept electronic applications for transfers.

you could overnight it!

...from the Brown website...

Candidates for entry in either semester should submit their completed applications and the $70 application fee no later than March 1.

Brown wants everything in their hands !!!

submit doesn't neccisarily mean 'received by'... it could still mean postmarked...I'm facing the same issue with Dartmouth. I'm going to call tomorrow.

Can't you submit it online?

actually, I remember applying to a school whcih had "submit by" blah blah, but I postmarked a day before it for INTERNATIONAL mail (so no way they could've gotten it on time). Nothing happened

I'll just call Brown. I just wondered if anyone else had, and already knew.

I didn't INTEND to leave everything to the last minute (of course, no one ever does). Most of the app is done; I am just one of those people who cannot submit things well before deadlines because I become convinced that I could have improved it somehow.

For Brown University, the application need only be postmarked.
