Will the admission officers, starting on December 1st, begin reviewing the common app when it is turned in even though the supplement and teachers' evaluations are not submitted?

I would guess that they would start with the complete applications before looking at any incomplete ones

I woud suggest having everything submitted at once. They don’t review incomplete applications until everything comes (with the exception of SAT results from the December/January test dates).

We attended an on-campus information session last April. The adcon stated that they start reviewing complete applications on 12/1, and they encourage applicants to submit ASAP (beginning in September!). Of course, with the volume of applications received (30,000 last year), they would never suggest anything else!

According to their email, they want the common app w/supplement even if test scores and teacher/counsellor recs are not in, by Dec. 1st. The “real” deadline is still Dec. 30th though…

Late teacher & counselor recs are very typical - not a deal-breaker.

In deciding whether to submit early, consider the possibility that you might help Harvard admissions more than you help your own chances. If you’ve got your app ready and your essays are at their peak by Dec. 1, it makes sense to submit. But if you might have things in better shape by December 30, why not use that extra time?
