So I just submitted my supplement (10:18 PM, Oct 19) but it says that the supplement was submitted on 10/20. Can anyone explain? Is it only done by eastern time zone? I really wanted an interview and my essay was done earlier, I was just double, triple, quadruple checking my Why Duke before I turned it in.

I honestly don't know whether the system runs on eastern time or not, but I am pretty confident you will get an interview. The admissions office wasnt taking in electronic applications tonight at midnight anyway, so I'm pretty sure they will see you submitted it tonight and want the interview. It is common for applicants to get interview offers even when they submit it well after the deadline, though not "near-guaranteed" like it is if you submit on-time. Also, Im assuming you live in an average area, with a Duke alum rep in the area and not in the middle of nowhere...that could play a factor as well. But dont worry, you are fine and set to get an interview, in my opinion.

Does anyone know how long it takes for interview notification? Sent in
supplement on Oct. 13th?

Depends....Interviewers still haven't been assigned applicants. The admissions office sends information to the chair person for a particular area of the country. That chairperson then assigns the interviews to individual alumni. The individual alumni then contact the applicant. So, it has to go through 3 different people before you get notified, so it depends how quickly those people react. I'd expect late Oct/early Nov.

In regards to isabellaaa's question, if you submitted it a day late, I would feel very very confident that you'll get an interview assuming you don't live in a very rural area. Although the regular decision deadline for guaranteeing an interview is December 10, last year in my area, applicants who submitted it as late as Jan 6th got an interview (yes, nearly a month after the "interview guaranteed" deadline and even after the "normal" regular decision deadline - it was extended as it has been pretty much every year for the past 5 years). So, I wouldn't worry about the couple hours late. You should still get one most likely. But, again, it depends on your area and how many volunteers there are in it.

Thanks guys :) If I get one then it's all good; if not I'll still be okay. Good luck to all of us! I really hope my December letter holds good news.
