<p>Since you’re already in school andd it sounds like you’re short the aid you need, your parents need to look into a Plus Loan.</p>
<p>Even if you were to get an adjustment for the medical expenses, it may only get you to where you originally were…which isn’t enough. </p>
<p>As others have said, you’re not going to get close to a dollar for dollar adjustment. As Swimcat mentioned, their medical expenses were $12k (none covered by insurance) and she only got a $2k adjustment. It sounds like you might only get a $1k adjustment or less. If so, then you’d still be short, right?</p>
<p>While you’re working this adjustment issue, you also need to be looking into a Plus Loan or some other loan to cover your shortfall.</p>
<p>Your sister was hospitalized THIS year. I don’t know how the school will handle those costs, since that would apply next year when you apply for aid. I don’t know if you can get an adjustment BOTH years for the same hospitalization. That doesn’t seem right.</p>
