Submitted Application Late?

I know, I did the stupidest thing ever.

I submitted my Supplement (4 essays), supporting materials (transcripts, recommendations), SAT scores (normal & 2 subject tests), and payment right on time for the deadline. I apparently completely forgot to click the submit button for the application though. It was just an absent minded mistake. This was on January 1st.

Since that was my last application, I didn't go on the Common App website for over a month. Then on February 12th, I checked the Common App website for a completely unrelated reason only to find that I hadn't submitted my application. I submitted it immediately.

It's over a month late. This is for my #1 school, my top choice, my dream school.

Do I still have a chance? Is there any possibility they would even consider me? Is there anything I could do to explain to them that would help?

Thank you

Depends on the college. Some colleges accept a few days late. Come colleges just don’t take it. Some colleges may consider it after checking the ones who applied on time.

Call up the admissions office, and ask them what would happen, but I think your chances are close to 1% (and I am not joking)
Additionally, do not send them an email saying you made this mistake. That is the silliest thing you can come up with. They will think you are lazy and irresponsible. Just call the college up; don’t keep your hopes up high. Chances are tooooo low.

Oh well… :</p>

yea your chances are very low because it is just way too late. Most colleges have probably read all the applications and are starting to make decisions by now. You can always call them up and hope for the best but you will most likely have to accept the fact that you can’t attend your dream school due to this mistake.

It really sucks and I feel bad to say this but it is the truth, one small mistake can change the course of a lifetime sometimes. Hopefully, you have a decent amount of other schools to choose from. And you can apply to this school again next year as a transfer student if you really want. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck.

you can do it

Call them up ASAP. It is likely that your application will not be considered, but it never hurts to try. I wish you good luck! It would be so horrible to lose your chance at your dream school just because of a mistake like that.
